Freedom dream partnerships
Our Freedom Dream Partners are grassroots, people of color led, community based organizations seeking liberation for underserved communities. We partner with these organizations to learn the most intentional ways to engage community through our research, and understand the most pressing issues impacting the communities we serve.
Our financial investment, community partnership, and position as a non-profit establish us as an intermediary—functioning in the space of a grantor, grantee, and community engaged research organization.

The Philly Black Worker Project uses collective action, policy change, and community power-building to win quality jobs, reduce employment discrimination, and improve working conditions in industries where Black workers—particularly justice-impacted workers—are disproportionately exploited.

Empowered Minds Academy (EMA) advances creates community-driven, liberatory learning spaces that affirm the agency, creativity, and brilliance of Black children and families. Their work challenges dominant educational systems that marginalize or erase Black histories and ways of knowing, replacing them with spaces that honor heritage, cultivate critical consciousness, and equip young people to imagine and build new futures.

DC Bike Academy is a youth-centered, community-based bicycle workshop that helps young people transform themselves and their communities through the power of bikes. Their programs emphasize mentorship, perseverance, and earned achievement—creating supportive, skill-building environments for young people, especially those who are underserved or at-risk.

The Christian Community Services Inc. (CCSI) Freedom Dream is for families from low to moderate income (LMI) backgrounds, particularly those receiving public assistance, to become empowered to achieve a legacy of social, spiritual, and economic self-sufficiency. For families to become less burdened by debt, increase savings, and begin building wealth to increase range of choices and overall freedom.
